How to Buy the Tesla Cybertruck

The Tesla Cybertruck is set to go into production later this year, and many have asked how they can get in on the action. Well, we’re here to guide you through the process, as well as give you all of the details on the newest addition to the truck market that are available at the moment.

Similar to the order process for the Model Y crossover SUV, navigating the reservation system is simple and only takes a couple of minutes. First, you click over to Tesla’s Cybertruck microsite, where you’ll be presented with three choices:

  • Single-motor – rear-wheel drive: $39,900
  • Dual-motor – all-wheel drive: $49,900
  • Tri-motor – all-wheel drive: $69,900

At the moment Tesla has yet to detail the battery sizes, but the presentation gave us a few range figures. The max-range listed was 500 miles for the tri-motor, while the dual-motor version was listed at 300+ miles and the single-motor base model at a still rated for 250+ miles.

Tesla Cybertruck Options

Other than motor, there’s few options listed at the moment. The big one is the Self-Driving option, which is listed at $10,000. If you’re interested in this option, you may want to strike with your preorder. When selection Self-Driving it stats “Selecting Full Self-Driving today will secure your price as it increases in the future.” The Learn More reveals more details on the feature stating:

The currently enabled features require active driver supervision and do not make the vehicle autonomous. The activation and use of these features are dependent on achieving reliability far in excess of human drivers as demonstrated by billions of miles of experience, as well as regulatory approval, which may take longer in some jurisdictions. As these self-driving features evolve, your car will be continuously upgraded through over-the-air software updates.
